Do I need a task to record temperature logs?

No. Temperature logs are ad-hoc and can be completed whenever you need, as long as your fridges and freezers have been added on the web app. Tasks are separate - but they make a great reminder system. Here's how the two work together.

Logs on their own

Anyone can tap + then Add Log on the mobile app and record a temperature at any time. No task needs to exist for this to work - see How to record temperature logs.

Adding a reminder task (admins)

Many sites want temps logged at set times, for example at opening and close. For that, admins can create a recurring task like 'Fridges & Freezers AM' that reminds the team to do their logs.

• On the web app, go to Task Management and click Add Task.
• Select the site and give the task a name, for example Fridges & Freezers AM.
• Add a checklist item such as 'Log all fridge & freezer temps'.
• Click Next and assign it to the right department or staff.
• Turn on the permission that sends assignees a notification reminder when the task is due in 15 minutes. This is designed exactly for things like fridge temps that need to happen at strict times.
• Click Next, choose Repeat and Every Day, then pick the time slot it's due in.
• Click Create. Your team now gets a daily reminder, and the temps themselves are logged through Add Log as usual.
